As the Super Bowl season rolls around, fans across the nation are not only gearing up for an epic showdown on the field but also on their tables, filled with mouth-watering eats that are as much a part of the tradition as the game itself.
This year, however, Chef George Duran is taking the culinary experience to a whole new level with a focus on dishes that are both scrumptious and health-conscious, perfect for elevating any Super Bowl party without the post-game guilt. Chef Duran, renowned for his ability to blend flavors in innovative ways, has partnered with leading brands to bring a fresh twist to game day classics.
By incorporating high-quality, wholesome ingredients, Duran demonstrates that you can indulge in your favorite foods while still keeping health in mind. First up is a Football Charcuterie Board stylized as a goal post!
Absolutely Gluten Free Crackers and Flatbreads
Pimento Cheese or Goat Cheese
Mini pepperoni or salami, cut into small slices
Cheddar cheese slices
Bite-size fruits and vegetables
Hard boiled eggs
Directions: Use the Absolutely Gluten Free Crackers and Flatbreads to shape them into a goalpost on a large platter. Pile numerous layers of crackers and flatbreads on top. Use a spoon and your hands to carefully shape the pimento cheese or goat cheese into a small football. Cover it with the salami slices and use thin closes of cheddar cheese to form the stitches on the football. Place between the goal post crackers. Add as many variety of ingredients throughout the platter to create the perfect Game Day charcuterie board.
For those seeking gluten-free options without compromising on taste or texture, Duran introduces a game-changer: Absolutely Gluten Free’s lineup of crackers and flatbreads serve as the perfect base for a variety of toppings, from a rich and creamy avocado spread to a zesty tomato and herb salsa. These dishes not only cater to the dietary needs of all your guests but also add an element of surprise to the traditional game day fare.
For those who can’t imagine game day without a dip, Duran offers a Garlic Fusion dip that’s creamy, zesty, and full of flavor. This is perfect for dipping those AGF crackers! This dip not only offers a rich taste but also adds a nutritional boost to the party spread. Taking center stage in Duran’s game day dip is Dorot Gardens®’ pre-portioned garlic, onions, and herbs, which infuse his dishes with the fresh flavors needed to transform ordinary ingredients into gourmet delights. Imagine the aroma of roasted garlic and fresh herbs emanating from your kitchen as you prepare a batch of Duran’s signature quinoa bites—a dish that’s not only a crowd-pleaser but also packs a punch of protein and fiber.
Game day Garlic Fusion dip
4 cubes Dorot Gardens garlic- allow to thaw
2 tbsp oil
2 Cubes Dorot Gardens Sautéed onions – allow to thaw
6 oz frozen chopped spinach, thawed
1 block cream cheese, room temperature
1 can artichoke hearts
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, divided (I used the TJ’s Quattro Frommagio mix and highly recommend)
1/3 cup grated pecorino romano
1/4 cup mayo
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1/2 tsp freshly grated black pepper
1. Add the thawed spinach to a fine-mesh sieve with a bowl underneath and press it with paper towels to remove as much water as you can.
2. Add all the ingredients, except 1/2 a cup of the shredded mozzarella, to a bowl and mix until it’s well blended
3. Add the dip to a 10″ skillet and put it in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until it’s hot. Once it’s hot, add the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella to the top and broil on high for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is brown and bubbly. 4. Serve immediately with pita chips and enjoy!
